Grab immediate attention through a good first impression

Jan 1, 2024 | All, Tips & Tricks

Did you know that you only have a few seconds to grab your website visitor’s attention? Sounds like a challenge, right?

So, if your visitor drops out then your message will simply be overlooked, no matter how good it is! So, the essence of your home page is to make your visitor as sbel as possible interested in your offer and make sure they understand for whom this offer is intended.

This may seem obvious, but let’s look at an example:

“Looking for family coaching? Make an appointment here.”

Now, as a visitor reading this, I wonder:

  • What does family coaching entail?
  • Why do I need to make an appointment?
  • Is this for me?

Do you understand what I’m getting at? You need to show that you really understand your visitor’s problem and have a solution. Then you can show them why they should choose you for this solution.

The power of first impressions

To hold your client’s attention right away, you want your website to immediately name the problem or question your client is struggling with and for which you have the solution. And it’s not about the features of your offer, such as a coaching program of x sessions or a yellow vacuum cleaner. No, rather, you need to name the results so that the value of your offering is highlighted.

Speak your visitor’s language

So, let’s take that earlier example:

“Can’t get through one day with your kids without arguing?

Learn how to communicate with your children in all situations without escalating.
So that you can always deal well with difficult situations and your family can just be together again.”

Contact me today for a phone consultation. Not a session but just a sparring session to see if and how I can help you.

If I, as a visitor, read this and recognize myself in this situation, it is clear that I am getting something from this. And my attention is immediately held by the desired result because that is what I ultimately desire. And if you then also tell a bit more about that specific situation your client is in, you show that you really know my problem or situation, I feel understood.

If so, I will definitely continue reading because this is exactly what I am looking for!

What about you?

Take a moment to look at your own website:

  • Do you make it immediately clear what you have to offer and for whom it is intended?
  • Do you do this in a way that appeals or curiosity to your ideal client?
  • Are you concrete enough?

If you do this and manage to hold the visitor’s attention, you can take them and show them why they should choose your offer. I hope these tips are going to help you. Good luck!
