10 top tips for your website

10 top tips for your website

Whether you are building a new website or want to improve the one you have, these tips will help you take concrete steps towards a website that delivers more.

I know, you've probably seen them before. But are you actually applying them?
Be honest about your current situation and don't overthink ‘how to do it’, then you're open to seeing what's already in order and what still needs attention or action. With that insight, you can make a plan to address it.

The tips are short and to the point. Here they are:

1. Start with a clear strategy

Know exactly what you want to achieve with your website. A good strategy helps you stay focused and ensures you don't endlessly tinker with texts and layout. This way, you work purposefully on a website that delivers results.

2. Be concrete and clear

It's about two things: showing how you help people and convincing them to choose you. Use your target audience's language and talk about their needs.
Tip: have someone you don't know read your texts for honest feedback.

3. Show who you are

Your personality matters! Your website is about your customer, but you're the face behind it. Add a personal touch, share photos and tell your story. This creates a real connection with your visitor during the first -online- encounter.

4. Choose a brand design to match

Your design tells a story about who you are and what your brand stands for. When this is 100% right, you automatically attract the right customers. Make sure your appearance suits both you and your target audience.

5. Focus on value and results

Don't just tell what you do, but especially what it brings your customers. Share concrete results and examples of how you help people. That's more appealing than listing your methods.

6. Place clear Call-To-Actions

Indicate on each page what the next step is. Whether it's making contact, downloading something, or scheduling an appointment, make it easy for your visitors with clear buttons and invitations.

7. Keep your content up-to-date

A fresh, current website radiates professionalism. Regularly update your content, add new projects, and ensure all information is correct. This keeps you relevant to both visitors and search engines.

8. Make sure visitors have a pleasant experience

Your site should load quickly, navigate easily, and look good on mobile too. Make it as easy as possible for the user.

9. Keep it simple

Focus on what really works: clear content and user-friendly design. Spend your time on the basics instead of bells and whistles that distract from your message.

10. Actively draw visitors to your site

The last and perhaps most important tip. A beautiful website alone is not enough. Make sure people can find you through social media, advertisements, or networking. An active strategy is also needed for Google findability.
