Grab immediate attention through a good first impression

Grab immediate attention

Did you know that you only have a few seconds to grab your website visitor's attention? Sounds like a challenge, right?

If your visitor drops out then your message will simply be overlooked, no matter how good it is! So the essence of your home page is to get your visitor interested in your offer as quickly as possible, and to make sure they understand who this offer is intended for.

This may seem obvious, but let's look at an example:

Looking for family coaching? Make an appointment here.

Now, as a visitor reading this, I wonder:

  • What does family coaching entail?
  • Why do I need to make an appointment, and what happens then?
  • Is this for me?

Do you understand what I'm getting at? You need to show that you really understand your visitor's problem and have a solution. Then you can show them why they should choose you for this solution.

The power of first impressions

To hold your client's attention right away, you want your website to immediately name the problem or question your client is struggling with and for which you have the solution. And it's not about the features of your offer, such as a coaching programme of x sessions or a yellow vacuum cleaner. No, you need to name the results, so that the value of your offer is highlighted.

Speak your visitor's language

So, let's take that earlier example:

Do you rarely get through a day with your children without arguments and frustration? And can't you manage to change that?

Everyone knows this (and knows how exhausting it is). But it can be different! You just need the right tools and a strategy that is simple to apply.

I'll teach you how to communicate with your children in all situations without it escalating. So that you always know how to deal with difficult situations and can make sure your family can simply enjoy being together again.

Contact me today for a phone consultation. Not a session, just a chance to talk it through and see if and how I can help you.

If I, as a visitor, read this and recognise myself in this situation, it is clear that I am getting something from this. And my attention is immediately held by the desired result, because that is what I ultimately want. And if you then also tell me a bit more about that specific situation your client is in, you show that you really know my problem or situation, and I feel understood.

Then I will definitely keep reading, because this is exactly what I am looking for!

What about you?

Take a moment to look at your own website:

  • Do you make it immediately clear what you have to offer and who it is intended for?
  • Do you do this in a way that appeals to your ideal client, or makes them curious?
  • Are you concrete enough?

If you do this and manage to hold the visitor's attention, you can take them along and show them why they should choose your offer.
