Having reviews and testimonials is invaluable for your sales.
According to BigCommerce, 72% of consumers say positive reviews and testimonials make them trust a business more, and 88% trust online reviews as much as personal recommendations.
That’s a huge amount of credibility you can leverage with some well-executed testimonials from genuine customers.
- Customer testimonials help build trust
- Customer testimonials work like referrals
- They can explain the benefits of your products or services
- They can explain how your products or services work
- They can help you create an emotional connection
How to ask for a review
Asking for reviews (and writing them) can seem difficult, but if you help your customers and make it easier for them, you will be more likely to receive their feedback.
Simply ask 3 questions:
- What problem or desire did you have before you came to me/us?
- What is your best result from my/our product or service, or from working with me/us?
- Why would you recommend me/us to others?
Make it personal
It’s good to ask your client if you may publish their review on your website and if you can add their photo and name. This can be their social media profile picture or a website logo.
If you mention the name, position or company name and a small photo, the impact of the review is much greater.
But always check with your client first with a 4th question:
- Can I publish your feedback with your name and/or photo, or do you want to stay anonymous?
One more question from me to you:
Can I ask you for a review? I’d love to hear your feedback!
